I am normally employed on a full time basis within the web industry and have worked as a Webmaster, SEO Account Manager and Web Developer encompassing web design, web development, SEO, social media marketing, pay per click campaigns and copywriting.
I started developing websites back in 2000 in my spare time while working in the insurance industry. I taught myself HTML and learnt to handcode nested tables in Notepad. Needless to say, it has made me very meticulous as one mistake in a nested table is a right pain to find!
Within my job I started to learn how to program Access databases, and this allowed me an easy ride with starting ASP programming using VB Script.
After a few years of writing some basic ASP code, I started looking into the world of open source, and as such decided that PHP would very handy to know, so taught myself that as well.
It didn’t take long to realise that PHP and Linux servers offer far greater flexablity for websites, and so decided to stick with this route and chose not to worry about the new ASP.NET framework.
I take on freelance work in my spare time, as well as spend time developing my own ideas.
